I'm sure he and most people where you live know their land inside and out, and I love that their lives are completely entangled with that land, the weather, the seasons.. etc. Our generation back in the good ol'USA is so far removed from that idea, and we know so little about where our food comes from or how its grown. I suppose their are benefits to both lives, but its wonderful you have the opportunity to bridge this gap- learn as much as you can.
